New L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Lingerie REVIEW

Hi Everyone!
I am doing a review on the new Nail Lingerie from L'Oreal. The stick on nail polishes have become so popular today. There are stickies that come in different colors and different designs that allow women to have fun with their manicures without spending big money. L'Oreal just came out with a new line of their nail products. The difference with this product is that it is more of a nail accent than a nail polish that you simply stick on your nails.

In my local store, I believe there was 3 different colors to choose from: Gold, Silver, and White. I loved how elegant the gold looked so I grabbed a set.

It is really simple to put on. Just size your nails, and stick it on top of your polished nail. Then with a nail file, file off the extra pieces off. My nails were pretty small so some of the designs were filed away, but it still looked amazing.

I thought the concept of this product was great. As for the longevity of staying on the nail, it was satisfactory. It stayed on well and the adhesive was strong enough to withstand hard labor. But I noticed that the tips began to fray away after the 4th day. After that, it just did not look as nice and I had to remove it. If you are planning to just wear this for a special event, it would look great and stay as long as the event will last. If you plan on wearing this for a longer period of time, I suggest you get a manicure instead. Overall, I would get this for special occasions only.

Tips: Do not put a top coat over it! It will ruin the sticker and create a wrinkly mess.

Urban Decay's Moondust Eyeshadow REVIEW

Hi everyone!
This is a review on Urban Decay's Moondust Eyeshadow! I am so excited to get my hands on their new product because it looked so great on. I got the shade in Moonspoon, which is a nice metallic gray with silver glitter. When I tried it on, it reminded me of the night sky... literally! I loved how the silver glitter stood out from the gray shadow and it was just beautiful! It's a great color to wear for a night on the town or hanging out with your friends in the club scene.

There are 2 ways to apply this shadow.
1. Regularly with a brush or a finger straight from the pot
2. Apply wet! (dab your brush or finger into water and apply the shadow)

Applying regularly with a brush/finger will give you a soft and pretty sheer application on the lids. The color of the shadow won't show as much which allows the silver glitter to stick out. It is very soft, and very wearable even during the day! However, if you want a more intense shadow for your eyes, apply it with a little water. The gray will definitely darken and the silver glitter will increase as well. You can clearly see this on the photo. Where the shadow on the left is applied with water, and the shadow on the right is applied without.

I enjoy applying the shadow regularly in the daytime. After work, if I have something special planned, I'll touch up my shadow with a little water to intensify the color for a night time look!

The silver glitters stay on pretty long, but I suggest you apply a primer on your eyelids to keep the glitters from settling in your crease. Trust me, it will help keep the eyeshadow on and prevent creasing.

I would highly recommend this for those who love glitter that they bathe in glitter! I am interested in getting myself the Intergalactic (a deep purple) and Glitter Rock (a soft magenta).

I hope you enjoyed this review!

IPSY REVIEW: May 2013 Bag

Hi Everyone!
I am back with a review on the new Ipsy bag for the month of May. This month's theme is "Spring Fling" which pays homage to the month of sunshine, fun colors, and preparing for the summer! The bag the products came in was very fun and reminded me a lot of the Coachella fashion that is popular among the young women.

This month I received 5 products that was customized according to the quiz I took prior to subscribing. (Disclaimer: I am only reviewing my bag, which may contain different products than other bags that were sent out. Ipsy is revamping their way of customizing every subscribers' bag according to their quiz to have more customized and tailored bag to every subscriber.)

The products I received are: (all are full size)
1. Zoya Nail Polish in "Blu"
2. Mirabella Lipstick in "Daydream"
3. Yaby Cosmetics Concealer in "Honey"
4. Juice Beauty Lip gloss in "Champagne"
5. Pacifica Roll On Perfume in "Island Vanilla"

** also because I am an active contributor to the Ipsy website, I received a sixth product as a thank you!
I received a full size sample of Urban Decay's new Moondust Eyeshadow in Moonspoon. I am going to write a separate review on this product in another post coming soon. I just want to say thank you to Ipsy for a great gift. You all know how I love Urban Decay's products!!! :) xoxox

Zoya Nail Polish in "Blu"
I think all the nail polishes that I've been given from Ipsy has never disappointed me. I loved the Nailtini polishes as well as the nail polishes by Andrea's Choice. I have been hearing rave reviews of the Zoya polishes that I was excited to be receiving my own polish from Ipsy. The color I got was a nice pastel blue which I don't have in my collection yet. What I really liked about the polish is that it is really opaque. Some polishes that are a nice pastel color usually are really translucent that it would take at least 3 coats to get the color on the bottle to your nail. And don't get me started on the long drying time! With Zoya, I was impressed on the opacity of the color is with one swipe of the brush. It just takes 2 coats to get the beautiful pastel color onto my nail. Also, the polish lasted for a week and a half with no chipping. For a girl like me, I dig like a wild man through my book bag and my purses. I also work in a lab and do house chores all day. For a polish to last for more than a week with no chipping is a great nail polish for my lifestyle! I would definitely recommend!!!

Mirabella Lipstick in "Daydream"
I am a sucker for lip products, but I am very picky on the colors I get. Lately, I've been into the sheer lip products and I was very pleased to get a sheer lipstick from Ipsy. It's like you're reading my mind! The color was a nice everyday light pink that I like to wear in the daytime. It is pretty sheer, but it puts the right amount of pigment on the lips to get you a healthier look through the day. I also noticed that not only is the lipstick sheer, it has some shimmer to give your lips some highlight to create a fuller looking lip.

Yaby Cosmetics Concealer in "Honey"
I was very hesitant about getting a concealer especially when it comes to matching my skin tone. I think Ipsy did a great job in trying to guess the right color for me, but I think the color is too light. However, I didn't let that stop me from using this product. I just used it to conceal my dark circles and it did just fine. The coverage was satisfactory as it did cover my circles. The cream formula was smooth to the touch, but I found it very difficult to blend out. I also noticed that when I was wearing the concealer, it started to settle in the fine lines on my face. Big NO NO! Overall, I did not enjoy this product, but I give props for Ipsy on the color match!

Juice Beauty Lip gloss in "Champagne"
I remember receiving a moisturizing face lotion from Juice Beauty a while back and I hated the smell. It smelled of vanilla, lemon, and green apple which was waaaaaay too "citrussy" for me. I was hoping the lip gloss didn't smell like it because the color was gorgeous. However, they smelt just the same! I didn't like the smell of the lip gloss which sucked because it deterred me from using it. I did suck it up and used it for a day so I can review its performance. I loved the color! It was a perfect nude to go with any spring color. It was very sticky on and it had the same feeling of what you'd experience with a lip plumper, but I'm not sure if that's one characteristic of this lip gloss because it didn't say. The packaging was cute and very chic. The applicator was flexible so you can mix the small glitters inside the bottle to evenly distribute the color. The lip gloss didn't stay on pretty long. I found that it tends to "melt" off your lips giving you the "I just ate a greasy fried chicken and I didn't have a napkin" look. Lol. Overall, I loved the color of the lip gloss, but hated the smell. If you like citrus scented products, this would be your favorite lip gloss.

Pacifica Roll On Perfume in "Island Vanilla"
If you are an Island Princess, this perfume is definitely for you. With the scent of tropical fruits like a pina colada smothered in a syrup of vanilla, this scent is very sweet! I'm not very fond of tropical scents, but I thought this was decent. However, as a personal preference, I wouldn't wear this on a regular basis. If i was going to the beach, a luau, or a spa, I would totally wear this. It's a nice scent to have around on hand. I am not a huge fan of vanilla.

I hope you enjoyed my review for the Ipsy May Bag for "Spring Fling"! I will be back next month to review the upcoming bag for June!

The Great Gatsby: Jordan Baker Tutorial

Hi Everyone!
I've recently was blown away with the 2013 remake of one of my favorite literary pieces by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrmann was visually entertaining as it was faithful to the book. I enjoyed it so much! And of course, being a girl, I was mesmerized by the 1920s fashion, jewelry, and makeup. Jordan baker was one of my favorite characters aside from Jay Gatsby himself. The whole movie I couldn't help but notice her makeup. Inspired, I tried to recreate her look as well as creating a 1920s makeup look that you can wear out for date night, a wedding, or to an extravagant party like Gatsby's. I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I enjoyed creating it!

                          Products Used:
- Mirabella Face and Eye Primer
- Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in Golden Tan
NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Dance the Tides
- BH Cosmetics in Deep Smokey Purple
The Balm's Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow in Matt Batali
NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Stripped
- Sonia Kashuk Full Volume False Eyelashes
- Physician's Formula Eyebooster Eyeliner
- Physician's Formula Bronze Booster in Medium
- Sephora's Blush in Healthy Rose No. 9
- Sephora Lipstick in Crush

Jordan Baker has nice big round eyes and this look definitely accentuates her eyes. Use NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Dance the Tides to create a round crease on the eye lids. This will help you apply the darker purple color evenly on the eyes making sure not to go over the crease you created. With a big fluffy brush, blend out the edges to remove any harsh lines. Next to add a little dimension on the crease, apply The Balm's Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow in Matt Batali where you applied the crease blending the color inward towards the eyes. For the smokey eye effect, with a tapered shadow blush, apply NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Stripped on the outer corners and under the lower lash line. Finish the look with your favorite false eyelashes, eye liner, and volumizing mascara (both top and bottom). You can wear this look with a dramatic deep wine lipstick or a pink lip to cool it down.

This is definitely one of my favorite looks to date. I accessorized with the biggest and classiest costume jewelry I could find. It was so much fun and I hope you enjoy wearing it as much as I did :)

Urban Decay's Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer Potion Review

Hi Everyone,
This review is for Urban Decay's Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer Potion.  This primer potion claims to minimize and smooth out the large pores on your face while leaving a soft, matte finish.

Urban decay has 2 types of complexion primers. The other potion is for Brightening and Tightening. I decided to get the Pore Perfecting potion because I felt that it would be of more use for me due to my pores and oily combination skin.

So how was this primer? I have tried many primers before using this one from Urban Decay. I have Mirabella that I got from Ipsy and Two Face's Primed & Poreless. These two prior primers worked very well for me in terms of long lasting and pore minimizing, so trying Urban Decay's gave a bit of pressure for me to like (especially because I loved Urban Decay products).

When I first tried it, I was stressing out because at first, I wasn't really happy. I felt that after applying my foundation over it, my foundation easily moved on my face. For example, I would wear my glasses during class and when I would remove it, there were streaks under my eyes and the bridge of my nose. It looked as if my glasses pushed the foundation off my face. I thought it was just my first time and I had to let myself learn how to use this, so I gave it another shot. BUT! it happened again the next day which didn't make me too happy.

As for the "pore perfecting", it did pretty well with minimizing my pores and smoothing out my face. I have a few dry spots from recovering acne and blemishes. When I apply this primer over them, it really smooths them out and make applying foundation easy. Also, it didn't leave flaky spots which saved my life! As for the smooth matte finish, it did really great! My skin is oily combination and it is really hard to keep my oily face in control. When I tried this primer, my face stayed oil free and matte for a very long time which is why I continued to use this primer.

Would you recommend this? Overall, I really like this primer aside from the fact that it "pushes my foundation to the side" haha. It really does a good job in minimizing pores and giving you an oil free look for a long period of time. If that is your biggest concern, then I would definitely recommend this product to you because it works wonders.

I have gotten the hang of using this product and the "pushing off my face" doesn't really happen anymore. I found that it is best to let it set on your face until it dries before you put your foundation on. This will allow a long lasting foundation that wont smudge off.

I hope you enjoyed this review and that it was helpful!

Graduation 2013: Day Look

Hi Everyone!
Graduation is just around the corner! This is a look you can wear during the ceremony whether it be in the daytime or evening. Also, I will give you some tips to turn this daytime look into an evening look if you want to look "done up" for your graduation reception.

With this look, I was going for a natural face wearable for the office. You are graduating and probably looking for a job. What better way to look presentable to potential employers and looking like you mean business! You are not a college student anymore. You are part of the working economy. It's time to ditch the college sweaters and start getting used to those pair of slacks and a professional face.

Products used are mostly all Urban Decay (UD):
UD Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer
UD Naked Skin Foundation in 6.0
UD Naked Palette
UD Primer Potion
Physician's Formula Bronze Booster in Medium to Dark
Sephora's Blush in Healthy Rose No. 09

Eye Makeup Tutorial
1. After priming the eyes, with an eyeshading brush (Sigma E55), apply Virgin as a highlighter on the brow bones and inner corners of the eyes.

2. Apply Naked as a base color all over the lids.

3. Next, apply Smog on the outer corners of the eyelids.

4. Then apply Half Baked on the inner corners of the eyelids and blend the two colors together.

5. With a blending brush (Sigma E40), apply Buck on the crease while blending the colors.

* The look is basically done here. You are ready for the Ceremony! If you want to have a darker look for an evening event, you have the option below.

6. To add some smokiness to the look for the evening, I suggest you apply Darkhorse in the outer corner as a definition shadow. This will create a lightly smoky eye. IF you want a more dramatic look, skip Darkhorse and apply Creep. This will definitely give you a smokey eye. Don't forget to retouch Half Baked!

VoilĂ ! You are done and ready to go! I hope you enjoyed this look. It is wearable anywhere from the office, to weddings, a date, or prom!

Enjoy!
